1882
S.A.BRAIN & CO. IS FOUNDED
Samuel Arthur Brain establishes the Old Brewery on St. Mary Street. Cardiff is booming — coal, shipping, industry. The brewery feeds a city in full momentum.
1897
EXPANSION ACROSS SOUTH WALES
Brains becomes the brewery of Welsh working life — present at every match, every occasion, every celebration. The Old Brewery grows to meet the city that never stopped drinking its beer.
1955
A CARDIFF INSTITUTION IS CEMENTETED
S.A. Brains' legendary bitter becomes the unofficial drink of Welsh rugby culture. Poured at every pub near Arms Park on international days. A liquid connection between city and sport.
1999
PRINCIPALITY STADIUM OPENS
Cardiff becomes a world rugby capital. The Millennium Stadium, later Principality — changes the scale of what Welsh sport means. The city's ambition shifts permanently upward.
2026
THE OLD BREWERY OPENS ITS DOORS AGAIN
